at Warsaw School of Economics, Director of Economic Research Center, formerly Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Poland, at the public lecture at the EHU

The two majors of the Department
of Economics include Economics and World Economy. The main program offered at the Department of Economics comprises four elements:

quantitative methods and computer training

core undergraduate courses
in Micro-, Macro and International Economics

advanced courses in Economics with emphasis on Economic Policy and International Trade

business education courses (Marketing, Management, Accounting, etc.)

This program allows students to pursue both academic and business careers after graduation.
Additionally, students take part in interdisciplinary and interdepartmental programs (e.g. Artes Liberales program, courses offered by the American Studies Center, the Institute for German Studies, etc.)

Beginning from academic year 2001-2002 EHU is reintroducing the two-cycle model of higher education programs.

Initially, the EHU was offering academic programs under this model of higher education. However, at that time the Belarusian Ministry of Education had no legal basis to accredit such programs officially. That caused the University to adopt a five-year design for its academic programs, which turned to be an EHU-liberalized version of the five-year diploma programs traditional for Belarus.
