Prof. Anatoly Mikhailov, Rector of the European Humanities University, was awarded with a French Order of Palmes Academiques of the 2d Degree (officier) on 6 March 2003 at the special session of the EHU Senate.

The Order was presented by H.E. Stephane Szmeliewski, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic in the Republic of Belarus. The ceremony was also attended by the representatives of diplomatic missions of Germany, Italy, Sweden, Romania, as well as of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and other officials of the Republic of Belarus.
