Meeting a long-standing need, in 2000 the European Humanities University succeeded
in establishing the Center of Belarusian Studies.
Dr. Vladimir Gilep, who is also the President of the Belarusian Cultural Foundation,
is Director of the Center. The Center's main goal is to enrich and preserve the
historical and cultural heritage of the country and to assist initiatives aimed
at Belarus'
cultural development. |
 |
The Center will serve as a focal point for joint research in Belarusian history,
art, and culture. The Center looks at Belarus and its historical heritage in a
broader context, taking into account the country's new political and economic
roles in the European area. |
