The European Union and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe
(OSCE) through its Advisory and Monitoring Group in Belarus, headed by Ambassador
H.-G. Wieck, jointly with the EHU established a Center for European and Transatlantic
Studies. The Center is an integral element of the University.
The combination of European and Transatlantic Studies embodied in
the Center's name reflects the new emerging political, economic and security realities
in the vast region extending from the North American west coast through Western
and Eastern Europe to Russia's Pacific coast with its distinctive environment
and specific problems.

Key objectives of the Center:
• Train a new generation of experts in the area
of European and Transatlantic relations through a master degree Program in European
and Transatlantic Studies
• Provide a venue for conducting research on Belarus
and the East European region in the context
of the emerging new Europe and
new Transatlantic relationships
• Provide a forum for debate of issues relating
to the development of Belarus and other NIS countries and their future roles within
the Euroatlantic area
• Publish the Center's Paper Series Crossroads |
